Picture Day Quilts includes step-by-step instructions for making a 52" x 52" quilt feauring unique, modern picture frame blocks. The quilt front includes 16 blocks in an offset arrangement. The quilt back echoes this offset arrangement with four large, framed, 16-patch blocks. Scrappy binding is pieced from strips cut from the fat quarters used for the blocks.
The pattern includes instructions for making standard blocks, as well as a wonky variation.
The instructions are designed for ease in cutting and piecing. All sashing pieces are cut along the width of the fabric and cutting/piecing shortcuts make piecing the frames simple.
